This stunning antique Edwardian bangle was made representing the Suffragette movement, Circa 1910. The wonderful bangle is adorned with a large violet 6ct Amethyst in the centre and accompanied by two green Cabochon Peridots and lovely cream Pearls.
Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine, their jewellery popularly consisted of Violet, Green and White colours which were chosen to counter the stereotypes put forward by opponents that they were mannish or shrieking! Green is for Give, white is for Women and violet is for Votes!
The bangle is all set in 9ct Yellow Gold and fully hallmarked on the reverse of the clasp. A stunning find from the Edwardian era, very eye catching.

Amethyst measures 11mm across x 15mm down - Peridots measure 4mm x 4mm.
